China Daily, coming to a newsstand near you

At a time when news outlets around the world are cutting budgets and laying off employees, when even the New York Times has to mortgage its headquarter office to ease its cashflow -- China's media industry is expanding.

The English-language China Daily is starting a U.S. edition, according to an article by the Straits Times. The recession is definitely bringing financial challenges to the east, but it's also bringing opportunities. For many Chinese companies, this is a time to be aggressive, to take risks, to expand. I'm just shocked that it's happening in the media industry, a sector that's never seemed to be too lucrative anywhere in the world.

And judging by this Reuters photo above, even Hillary is surprised. Maybe even disgusted.
